Free trial, refunds and licence rules
The Camtasia Editor can be tried with no time limit, but exports carry a watermark. Audiate's trial lasts 7 days and Snagit's 15 days. Camtasia Online, the browser editor, is free at 1080p. [5]
TechSmith offers a 14-day money-back guarantee. Cancelling keeps access until the paid year ends. A licence can be active on one device per user at a time, there are no discounted upgrades from older perpetual versions, and upgrading within 15 days of renewal costs nothing until the renewal, when the new price applies. $39 a year; fine while a watermark doesn't matter.

You want AI scripts and voiceover
$249 a year; 200+ AI voices instead of recording narration.

$599 a year; includes Assets and Screencast Pro.
A team that shares licences
$198 per user a year, transferable between people.
If the price isn't the real problem
Camtasia is a capable editor, but every tutorial still starts with someone recording the screen, and every interface change means recording again. For teams documenting web software, that time costs more than the licence.
Bingeable takes a different route: you give it a product URL and a sentence, and an AI agent performs the workflow in a real browser and returns a narrated, captioned tutorial. Bingeable starts free for your first tutorial; Starter is $39 per month billed annually ($49 monthly) and Growth is $149 per month billed annually ($179 monthly). It does not export SCORM or replace a timeline editor for course production. [7]

Frequently asked questions
The bottom line
In the US, Camtasia really starts at $179.88 a year, because Starter watermarks exports. Choose Create if you want AI narration instead of recording your voice, Pro only for avatars, translation or the stock library, and Teams licences if people change. Check the store from your own country, since TechSmith prices by location.
