For two to four people, separate Pro Personal seats cost less than the five-seat Pro Team minimum, but you lose Pro Team's comments. Five or more people are cheaper on Pro Team.
What Scribe Basic includes, and what it leaves out
Basic covers the core idea: capture a process in your browser and share the guide by link or embed, with quick customization. [1]
It leaves out desktop capture (Scribe's FAQ says the desktop app is a Pro and Enterprise feature), company branding, screenshot editing and redaction, and exports to PDF, HTML and Markdown. If your processes live in desktop software, or guides must carry your brand, Basic is a trial rather than a plan. [1]
The two billing rules that catch teams out
Plans sit at the team level. Scribe's FAQ says a team cannot mix Basic and Pro members, and upgrading a team to Pro upgrades its teammates too. If only a few people need Pro, Scribe suggests creating a separate team for them. [1]
Pro Team starts at five seats. A team of three on Pro Team pays for five; three Pro Personal seats cost $900 a year instead of $1,380. [1]
